WHAT IS A POLYETHYLENE WATER STORAGE TANK?
A plastic water storage tank is made from polyethylene or polypropylene polymers and engineered to store water for various work environments. These tanks securely hold large volumes of water (potable or non-potable) depending on requirements and type of water storage tank. The containers come in various designs and sizes, including for underground installation, and can even store chemicals.

Components
Most water tanks today are made of polyethylene, alongside a basic resin and UV stabilisers, either titanium oxide or carbon black and a pigmentation compound. This is if the tank is any colour other than white. Poly plastic tanks come in different densities, such as LDPE (low density), HDPE (high density), and MDPE (medium density). These are examples of linear polyethylenes. HDPE, however, is one of the most popularly used materials to manufacture plastic water tanks.
Manufacturing
Depending on the raw plastic material used, a water tank is created with a particular shape, size, and design with the help of a mould used in specific manufacturing procedures. Some of the most common industrial methods are blow moulding and rotational moulding, used to create plastic water tanks.
Rotomoulding and rotocasting methodologies create rigid-walled water tanks, including vertical ones.
Blow moulding is used in building water tanks that have semi-flexible walls. The process uses an openable product mould and a resin apparatus that uses air and heat.
